Outreach

Fallback Image

We strongly believe God wants to use Evergreen to reach our local community and even the world. We call this area of focus “Growing Wider in Influence.” Here are some of the current ways we are seeking to do that:

Foundations Class

A welcoming six-week class for anyone exploring the Christian faith or wanting to grow deeper in the basics of what we believe. Through teaching, discussion, and honest conversation, Foundations covers the essentials of the gospel, the Bible, prayer, and what it means to follow Jesus.

Mission to the Border

We have had the privilege to serve migrants who are seeking legal asylum in and throughout the USA by sending short-term mission teams to the Texas-Mexico region (Houston, Laredo). These trips are an opportunity to serve in the name of Christ and grow in compassion for those in vulnerable situations.

Community Engagement Surveys

You may have seen our team out with a simple whiteboard asking straightforward questions like “Do you feel Valued?” or “Do you have Confidence?” These brief, friendly conversations open doors to share the hope of the gospel with our neighbors.

Ladies Craft Ministry

Our gifted knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers, and fiber artists meet regularly to create beautiful handmade items — baby blankets, prayer shawls, hats, and more. These gifts are donated to local ministries and organizations as tangible expressions of love and care.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

Each spring, we host a free community Easter Egg Hunt at the playground behind Jennie Dean Elementary School. Hundreds of eggs, fun games, and plenty of candy make it a joyful event for families in the neighborhood.

We’re always looking for new ways to serve and new friends to serve alongside! If you’d like to get involved in any of these outreaches (or have an idea for another), please reach out to Duncan Ferguson at dferguson@evergreen.org.
